Garb


Almost all of our garb was sewn by Thorfinna, with material bought on the cheap from second hand stores (especially Value Village). Her designs are so good, that the Princess of Ealdormere and the Baroness of Septentria praised her for it at our first event (to the group we were with, not in court). Since Thorfinna is Norse and Colyne is Scottish, designs are fairly simple, but she uses different combinations of colours and textures to create a whole series of excellent garb. Unbelievably, Colyne came across a kilt for sale at Value Village for only $10! Naturally, he scooped it right up. The straps were a bit too small, so Thorfinna had to bolt some extensions onto them.

In January 2003, Colyne finally learned how to sew! He's even written an article on the subject. He made a new tunic and hood to wear to Septentrian 12th Night and a new tunic, over tunic and hood for Berus' Bar and Bar Room Brawl. He's even sewn a banner for the Ursus (Septentria's newsletter) to be used when selling copies at events. Thorfinna also tried her hand at embroidery and made Colyne a belt favour. These are Thorfinna's first attempt at shoe making.	The cote Thorfinna and Colyne made for Spring Crown 2004, which incorporates the heraldry of Colyne's knight. It took approximately 7 hours just to paint the castles.
