(The Canton-Upon-the-Cliffs)

The local chapter of the SCA, to which we belong. We joined in February AS XXXV (2001). The Chreaggers took us in right away, and have quickly become our extended family. If there's any of them that haven't heard it yet, thanks folks.

The Cliffguard is Ardchreag's armed force, who keep the peace upon the cliffs, ensuring that the wood- and water-ways are safe for travelers. Both Colyne and Thorfinna are members of the Cliffguard.
The Yeomen of the White Arrow is Ardchreag's archery/thrown weapon unit. Both Colyne and Thorfinna are members of the Yeomen.

Ardchreag falls within the Barony of Septentria, the original and largest of the SCA groups in what is now Ealdormere. Like the people of Ardchreag, Septentrians are a warm, fun loving bunch, perhaps being led by example by the current (and past) Baron and Baroness. At our first two events, then Baroness of Septentria, Gaerwen of Trafford, was very supportive (especially of Thorfinna), praising her garb-making abilities, our pauldrons, and other projects. May the Bears always be free. Long live Septentria.

Sir Evander MacLachlan, his squires and their partners. The group is actually based on a family structure, as opposed to a household structure. At the Coronation of Berus II and Marion II in April 2004, Colyne was squired to Sir Evander. As Evander originally hailed from the east Kingdom, this gives Colyne a bit of a unique perspective, as Ealdormere is a child of the Middle Kingdom.

At Ealdormere War Practice VI (July AS 39/2004), both Colyne and Thorfinna were recognized by the Galbraiths as having grown raven feathers. Both are very happy to be counted among such a talented group of individuals.

At the Household's 12th Night on January 3, AS 37 (2003), Duke Sir Finnvarr asked Colyne and Thorfinna to act as his Retainers for War and Tourney. This arrangement involved no oath of fealty and lasted for a year and a day. With the retainership over, Colyne and Thorfinna are no longer members of the Household, but count many of its members as some of their closest friends.
On March 23 AS 36 (2002), at Bad in Plaid in Vest Yorvik, both Colyne and Thorfinna swore to the Isengesitha, which was the fyrd (army) of Septentria under thegn Cynred and Baroness Gaerwen. On January 11, AS 37 (2003) at Septentrian 12th Night: Bad in Plaid 2, Colyne and Thorfinna swore to the Companions (the army under Baron Corwyn and Baroness Domhnail) for thrown weapons. On January 17, AS 38 (2004) they pledged their axe, bow and sword (Colyne adding a "when I am able" clause, as he had others with claims on his service). At Spring Tune-up on May 1, 2004, Colyne officially resigned from the Companions, having become a squire.
Both Thorfinna and Colyne joined the College of Bards in June AS 36 (2001). For a time, Colyne worked as the Deputy Webminister for the College's page (approx. Aug 2001 to Feb 2004).
Septentrian Performing Arts Troupe
Both Colyne and Thorfinna are founding members of the SPAT. So far SPAT has only had one performance (but its members continually stress that others are in the works).
A group of medieval games enthusiasts, founded by Colyne.
Thorfinna and Colyne are warranted members of the College.
