house Of 1000 corpses

Over three years ago I went to the movie theatre (a rarity) to see the re-release of The Exorcist (with additional footage - mostly ho-hum). There was a trailer that night for a film that looked cool. Real Cool. It was Rob Zombie’s House Of 1000 Corpses. I Had To See It. So I waited for it to come out. Waited. and waited. Apparently, Rob couldn’t find any distro for his little horror film (because of the hard-core horror violence I had hoped). I waited and waited.

Then, thanks to Lion’s Gate, it finally came out!! But sadly, it did not come to Peterborough. oh no, not Peterborough. shit. I could have gone to Toronto to see it, but I was lazy (and don’t forget the SARS). I could have seen a bootleg DVD but shit after waiting so long, it had to be the big screen. Now my wait is finally over. The previously unattended [by Mr. Brown] Cinema 379 has it’s first horror offering (I think): Rob Zombie’s House of 1000 Corpses. I will be in attendance. Although I heard an (apparently untrue) rumor they were closing down, let’s at least hope they stay open till the run of Corpses is over. And maybe, just maybe, if all us horror fans go and see this movie, they might start playing more horror-genre films instead of the usual boring "arty" films they seem to run. This is not a diss, it is just my opinion. This is not a review or an advertisement for Cinema 379. Just a horror movie fan giving others a ’sin’-cere "if you miss this one, you’re a dick!" - because I think this is the one we’ve been waiting for…
