“Search To Find Ministries” has provided this section, Discovery Journal©, in “My Journal For Life’s Journey” to be a journal of your daily and weekly reflections of your spiritual growth in the Lord.
Changes in our spiritual lives are often unnoticeable because they are subtle and slow. One way to measure the distance you have come on your journey is to keep a Discovery Journal©. As you look over your Discovery Journal©, you will see changes. Your Discovery Journal©, will be an encouragement for you, to recognize how a few years, months or weeks ago, you felt and thought a certain way and now, you feel and think differently. Your perception will change without you ever being aware of the changes. Your life will become more in line with Christ’s through the power of the Holy Spirit who dwells within you.
No one else is going to read your Journal so you can speak your mind freely, without struggling with the emotional pull of anxiety, the fear of rejection and recrimination. These are your own private thoughts.
It is a time of sharing your inner journey. Write what you think, feel, remember. . . your private thoughts, ideas, memories, how you felt about yourself that day, your attitudes about things, people and their responses to you. It is a private place for you. Be reflective! Be honest!
Every few weeks or months, go over what you have written in your Discovery Journal©. Then you can measure the distance you have come. You can measure the changes God has been making in your life’s journey! Please note that there will be highs and lows, however, this is a good thing because you are a traveler on a journey and the road will not always be flat--remember “in the valley He restoreth my soul.”
JOURNAL APPLICATION:
Try to write every day. Use a pen so you won’t be tempted to erase anything. Don’t tear out pages. Don’t be concerned with spelling or grammar - remember, no one is going to read it but you!
