Did you know that mental illnesses are: Very common - that they strike families from all walks of life, regardless of age, race, income, religion or education, are biological brain disorders that interfere with normal brain chemistry and ARE TREATABLE? What is mental illness? What is depression, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, obsessive compulsive behaviour, and panic attacks all about?

• Taking Care of the Caregiver

What is a caregiver? You are a caregiver if you provide care that helps a person who is ill, frail, elderly or disabled. Joan shows the caregiver how to care for themselves and not become a secondary victim.

• "Prayer and Care"

In this workshop Joan shares a program she calls “Prayer and Care.” The program shows a church how they can organize a group to care for someone in their congregation who is ill, frail, elderly or disabled.
