PRAYER

“Be joyful always; pray continually; give thanks in all circumstances,

”Search To Find Ministries” has provided this section, Prayer, in “My Journal for Life’s Journey” so you will discover that at the heart of your Christian journey, your relationship with God comes through personal prayer.

Prayer is the ministry through which we release God’s power in our lives and in the lives of others. Nevertheless, even times of prayer can degenerate into legalism, just another item on a spiritual ‘to-do’ list. Prayer can be a distraction if it becomes an obligation instead of a privilege and an essential part of our relationship with God. Prayer is how we talk to God.

Prayer is not merely what we say to God or what we ask for. We need to be silent and listen to the Holy Spirit’s still, small voice. Listening to God will lead to positive actions on our part. God is the living God who enters our lives with His awesome power and changes us in dramatic and unpredictable ways by the indwelling of the Holy Spirit. Take time to pray but also to listen.

JOURNAL APPLICATION:

There are three areas in this section. The first area in this section is for prayer requests that come up daily. When you have or hear about a prayer request, write it down. Then in your daily prayer time remember those prayers. The second is for praise that we give back to God. Psalm145:2 says, “Every day I will praise You, and extol your Name forever and ever.” Every day write a praise to God! This can be answers to prayer, scripture verses that mean a lot to you, poems, hymns, and other sayings that express your praise. We have divided the third into 31 squares. Into each square put the name or a situation that you would like to pray for monthly. Then on that day of the month pray for that person or situation. On the 31st day you could put your own name so that in months with 31 days you would pray for yourself! Of course if you have many people to pray for you could put two or three names in each square. There are two of these pages so that if you want change the prayers, you may do so.
