An Introduction

Misener Caregiver Educators Inc. is the organization formed by Bonnie and Don Misener as a vehicle through which they can contract their caregiving education services to individuals, community and business groups as well as to congregations.
Bonnie Misener is a graduate of the University of Saskatchewan and has post-graduate education in Clinical Pastoral Education, conflict resolution, theology, temperament identification and Carkhuff method of counseling. She has been employed as a social care coordinator for seniors, a chaplain in an acute care hospital, a life skills educator and a community counselor with palliative care patients and their families. Presently, Bonnie is contracted part time to Peterborough Regional Health Centre in Peterborough, Ontario where she specializes in the education of staff in communication skills, team building and self-care.
Don Misener is a graduate of McMaster University, McMaster Divinity College and Andover-Newton Theological School. Don is an ordained minister, and certified as a Pastoral Counselor and Clinical Pastoral Educator by the Canadian Association for Pastoral Practice and Education. He has served as a pastoral minister in Canada and the USA and as a federal and provincial prison chaplain and educator. Don has also been employed as a seminary professor, a spiritual care educator in an acute care hospital and the executive director of an ecumenical counseling and education ministry. Currently, Don is contracted by the Peterborough Regional Health Care Centre to provide professional, paraprofessional and lay spiritual and religious care education. He is also part-time minister of Havelock and Trent River United Churches.

Bonnie and Don make their home on the historic Trent Severn Waterway just north of Peterborough and enjoy all the outdoor activities that this makes possible with a family of 3 sons, 3 daughters-in-law, 6 grandchildren and Mira, the dog.
