Workshops & Retreats

Weaving the Tapestry of the Spiritual Life (6 to 10 hours)
In much religious teaching, the emphasis has been on right believing. What has been lacking are opportunities to discover how it is God has met us along the way of our journey and is seeking to be in relationship with us. This workshop emphasizes growth in the experience of relationship with God. Participants are introduced to a 5-step spiritual growth process developed by the Misener's which helps each person explore their spiritual journey, make spiritual discoveries and discern future direction.
Mid-Life: Wake-Up Call for Spiritual Growth (6 to 10 hours)
Mid-life (usually experienced between ages 35 to 50) is a time of awakening to mortality and limits. It encourages personal life review, revisiting religious beliefs and values exploration. There is a new urgency to find answers to questions of meaning, belonging and self-transcendence. Adult faith development is a key area of growth for safe navigation through this sometimes tumultuous time of transition. Research of mid-life from a wide variety of sources and the leaders' own discoveries is used to help participants name their experiences in the mid-life journey. The True Colors program is then introduced to help participants identify their particular gifts and explore future direction in spiritual growth and vocational development.
Choosing Change (6 to 10 hours)
Whether it is our decision or has been imposed on us, change is one of the big stressors of our lives. And at a time when change is occurring at a faster and faster pace, it can create in participants feelings of tumult, helplessness and a sense of being overwhelmed. This workshop encourages participants to identify the areas of change in their lives and their present methods of coping with change. Participants are encouraged to choose change and to identify the future direction possibilities that change makes possible.
Future Direction Planning (6 to 10 hours)
For congregations and organizations who wish to be intentional about future direction planning. Participants are guided through a process that builds on their foundational identity and mission, identifies a vision of the future, develops a 5 year plan, orders priorities, identifies the practical steps that will make it possible to realize their vision and inspires buy-in to the vision and acceptance of responsibility.
