Map of Traill College Wallis Hall is building #1 on the map. The night entry is on the right side in the middle. This door is normally unlocked until approximately 8pm. Parking is on London Street directly or on the lot between Langdon and Bradburn Houses (#7 & 8). |
| What do we do? | Our weekly meetings follow a general, but not absolute, rotation. The second and fourth Wednesdays of the month are our official meetings. During these nights, official canton business will be brought forward and discussed. This can involve planning of upcoming events, travel plans for events further afield, any business of any of the Canton officers along with any questions for the officiers from any of the members of the Canton. After the brief business portion, we will typically have a presentation, discussion or workshop often led by a guest speaker. Topics can vary considerably and have included discussions on medieval law, Viking blacksmithing, hands-on calligraphy and illiumination techniques, historical overviews of the Kings and Queens of England and many more. The first and third meeting of the month is a general Arts & Sciences night. On these nights, we will work on personal projects, discuss any and all topics that come to mind and generally socialize. Often we include a movie on these nights to keep the mood light and fun-filled. In those months with a fifth Wednesday, we will often hold a medieval dance practice. This often depends on room availability as our preferred choice is the student lounge of Traill College known as "The Trend". It is at the north end of Wallis Hall. Specific room location is posted that night. Our dance mistress, Lady Uracca, will lead any and all willing participants in medieval dance accompanied by period music (on CD). Full details and specifics of each week can be found on the Canton Calendar. |
