Loving one who loves you,
And then taking that bow!
Nice work if you can get!
And if you get it,
Won't you show me how?

A few years ago, CBS ran a series called Cybill. The series, although wildly popular in its first season, died after only two. Since I found no other webpages dedicated to this wonderful sitcom, I created one of my own.

From the CBS website ...

Cybill stars Cybill Shepherd as Cybill Sheridan, a woman in her forties who looks like a million bucks, and continues to lead a life that teeters between the sublime and the ridiculous. Her stop-start acting career, combined with her misadventures behind the camera, keep her life in constant flux. Her two ex-husbands won't go away. Her younger, brooding daughter has boycotted college, while her other daughter is struggling through a shaky marriage with a baby — and another on the way. Even so, Cybill has mastered the art of controlling the crisis du jour with the support of her best friend, Maryann Thorpe, whose biting commentary on everyone else's life is fueled by endless martinis and angst over wrecked relationships.

Premiere: January 2, 1995

Christine Baranski as Maryann Thorpe was nominated for Best Supporting Actress in the 1997 Emmys. Kristen Johnston as Sally Solomon in 3rd Rock From The Sun (NBC) won. Cybill Shepherd was also nominated for best Lead Actress in a Comedy series. Helen Hunt won for her role on Mad About You. Both inferior shows in my humble opinion.

Last call? Cybill pulled from CBS schedule

Story Posted April 03, 1998 at 23:22

LOS ANGELES (AP) _ Cybill and Maryann may have hoisted their last martini together. The sitcom Cybill has been pulled from the CBS schedule after posting low ratings in its new Wednesday time slot and appears unlikely to return. Next week, a rerun of Everybody Loves Raymond (but I don't love Raymond) will fill in at 8:30 p.m. EST Wednesday. Although Cybill cracked the top 10 in its first year and remained a contender in the 1996-97 season, its ratings slipped this year. For the week of March 23, Cybill ranked 62nd as it failed to compete with ABC's Dharma & Greg and with a special Seinfeld repeat on NBC.

And now for a comment from the webmaster ....
I like Dharma & Greg but I hated Seinfeld and Mad About You. I also hate Everybody Loves Raymond. It's sad when poor shows get rerun while Cybill doesn't.

...Untill Oxygen started to rerun it that is...
... which doesn't help this Canadian fan very much ...
